The "Kastamonu University Patent Portfolio," prepared to promote technologies developed through scientific research at Kastamonu University, connect them with industry, and contribute to the commercialization of intellectual property assets, has been published.
The Patent Portfolio prepared by the Technology Transfer Office (TTO) of Kastamonu University brings together the patented technologies developed in different disciplines at our University. The portfolio serves as a comprehensive resource that reflects our University's research and development infrastructure, innovative work, and expertise in intellectual property.
The Patent Portfolio comprises 40 registered intellectual property rights, consisting of 25 patents and 15 utility models. The technologies included in the portfolio are classified under six main headings: computer and embedded systems, machinery, materials, manufacturing, medical-health technologies, forestry, defense technologies, and aquaculture.
In the computer and embedded systems category, there are 8 registered technologies related to traffic safety, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, occupational health and safety, and energy efficiency. In the field of machinery, materials, and manufacturing, there are 12 patented technologies related to advanced materials, smart production systems, bioprinter technologies, and industrial machines.
In the medical and health technologies category, there are 12 registered intellectual properties aimed at the health and cosmetics sectors, such as wound-healing biomaterials, disease models, microfluidic biochips, edema detection devices, and auxiliary surgical equipment.
The portfolio also includes 6 patented technologies related to the production of antibacterial wood in forestry, high-density fiberboard with waste polystyrene additives, nano-additive-oriented strand board, and plywood with enhanced mechanical strength. The Patent Portfolio, which contains information on the technical field, invention summary, advantages provided, inventors, and registration status for each technology, serves as a technology catalog for industrial organizations, investors, entrepreneurs, and researchers. The portfolio aims to facilitate the transfer, licensing, and commercialization of technologies developed at our University to industry.
