The design "Dolap (Alaçatı Window Style Modem Hider)," developed by Assist. Prof.Dr. Mehmet Karamanoğlu and Necati Sevahilli from the Furniture and Decoration Program at Kastamonu University, Tosya Vocational School, have been registered by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.
Developed to reduce the visual pollution caused by modems and cables in living spaces, the design is a two-door decorative cabinet inspired by the Alaçatı window. The product, which can be mounted on the wall, prevents the modem and cables from being seen while adding a decorative element to the environment.
In the design, made from natural wood materials, decorative shelves, hanging areas, cable passageways, and ventilation details were included. Thus, the product not only hides the modem and cables but also offers a functional solution that provides ease of use.
The design, which combines the aesthetics of traditional windows with the needs of contemporary living spaces, has been registered by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office and is protected under intellectual property rights.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, stated that the intellectual property studies conducted at our University are increasing day by day, and he expressed that the registration of designs and inventions developed at our University is one of the tangible outputs of academic production.
