The Academic Staff Adaptation Program, organized for academic personnel who began their duties at Kastamonu University in the last two years, concluded with the final sessions held on June 18, 2026, in the Faculty of Theology Conference Hall.
The program, aimed at transferring our university's institutional structure, academic operation processes, and quality-focused work approach to new academics, was held with intense participation over three days.
Within the framework of the program, organized in coordination with the Directorate of Personnel Affairs of our University and the Directorate of Excellence in Education, comprehensive information was provided to participants on educational activities, research and project processes, the quality assurance system, student-centered practices, academic and administrative operations, and institutional culture. Throughout the program, presentations by representatives from various departments of our University were conducted, allowing the new academic staff to become more familiar with the institution's operations.
On the last day of the program, the first session was conducted by the Press and Public Relations Consultancy, featuring a presentation titled "The Functioning of the Consultancy, News Topics, Use of Internet and Social Media Tools, Corporate Communication." In the presentation conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selver Mertoğlu, information was shared about corporate news processes, the effective use of digital communication tools, and corporate communication activities.
Then, a presentation titled "Erasmus+, Bilateral Agreements, Student and Staff Mobility, Opportunities and Supports" was conducted by the Office of International Relations. In the presentation given by the General Coordinator of External Relations, Assoc. Prof. Dr. M. Öztürk Akçaoğlu provided information on the Erasmus+ program, international collaborations, student and staff mobility, and the international opportunities and support mechanisms offered to our academic staff.
Continuing the program, a session titled "Approach to Excellence in Education, Strategies for Students and Faculty, Examples of Good Practices" was organized by the Education Excellence Coordination. During the session, the student-centered education approach, strategies to improve teaching processes, and examples of good practices implemented at our University were shared with participants.
In the closing session, the Education Excellence Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Berat Ahi, stated that the program is not solely for informational purposes but also helps the newly appointed academic staff become more familiar with our University's institutional structure and work culture. Emphasizing the importance of sharing our university's 20 years of institutional experience with the new academic staff, Prof. Dr. Ahi stated that a mutual learning and interaction environment contributes to institutional development.
The Academic Staff Adaptation Program, which concluded with an evaluation and closing session after three days of training, provided participants with the opportunity to gain comprehensive knowledge about our University's academic vision, quality initiatives, institutional operations, and goals.
