The "Özgün Baskı" exhibition, organized by students of the Graphic Design Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design at Kastamonu University, was presented to art enthusiasts on June 9, 2026, at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Exhibition Hall.
The exhibition was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Prof. Erol Yıldırım, the exhibition curator, Assist.Prof.Dr. Alkan Bayraktar, as well as many academics, students, and art enthusiasts from Kastamonu.
The exhibition, featuring works by final-year students of the Graphic Design Department, used original printing techniques and showcased pieces that reflect the students' creative perspectives and artistic production processes. Curated by Assist.Prof.Dr. Alkan Bayraktar from the Graphic Design Department, the exhibition featured works by Esra Çalışkan, Aleyna Atalar, Muaz Elhan, Hanife Çetin, Emirhan Canbaz, Esra Dursun, Elanur Sinanoğlu, Rümeysa Arlı, Serra Şengül, Berfin İlayda Sarıaslan, Farma Gamze Biçer, and Pelin Aktaş, which were presented for the appreciation of art enthusiasts.
Speaking at the exhibition's opening, Prof. Erol Yıldırım, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design at Kastamonu University, stated that art education is not merely about developing technical skills and emphasized the importance of students demonstrating their ability to think and create independently.
Prof. Yıldırım, "It is a great source of pride for us that our students transform the knowledge and experiences they gain throughout their educational processes into artistic production." I congratulate our academic staff and students who contributed.
The curator of the exhibition, Assist.Prof.Dr. Alkan Bayraktar emphasized that original printmaking requires a disciplined production process, stating, "Our students not only showcased their technical proficiency in this exhibition but also their personal expressions and unique approaches." Each work emerged from a long research and production process. "The works featured in the exhibition are significant pieces that reflect our students' artistic development and design understanding."
The exhibition, which attracted significant interest, brought students' artistic productions together with art enthusiasts and offered visitors the opportunity to closely examine different techniques and applications of original printmaking.
