Kastamonu University will participate with 9 projects and 3 side events in the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP31) to be held in Antalya from November 9-20, 2026. Our university's project applications were accepted, granting us the right to organize events on the COP31 platform.
The COP, held annually under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change adopted in 1992, is among the highest-level conferences addressing global cooperation in the fight against climate change. It is expected that around 100,000 participants, including heads of state and government, ministers, scientists, business representatives, and non-governmental organizations, will attend COP31, which will be hosted by Türkiye.
The COP31 Action Agenda covers topics such as zero waste, oceans and seas, food security, climate-resilient cities, youth and education, green industrialization, and clean energy transition. Our university will share its efforts to combat climate change on the international platform through the accepted projects and side events. The academic expertise in the field of forestry and nature tourism is also aimed to be promoted internationally through these efforts.
We congratulate our project managers and wish them success in their work within the scope of COP31.
