According to the 2026 World University Regional Rankings, announced by the London-based higher education ranking organization QS, Kastamonu University ranked in the 791-900 band among universities across Europe. Our university is ranked 79th out of 140 universities in the Western Asia regional ranking and 18th among Turkish universities in the citation-per-publication indicator.
The QS ranking considered indicators such as citations per academic, academic/student ratio, visibility in international research networks, international student and academic ratios, graduate employment, sustainability studies, and reputation among employers and academics. Our university was included in the evaluation based on its progress in various indicators, particularly in internationalization and research performance.
Commenting on the matter, our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, stated that our University's inclusion in international evaluations is significant for the academic studies being conducted.
Stating that our university continues its efforts to increase research activities and international visibility, our Rector also emphasized that a quality-focused education approach is fundamental to all processes at our university.
Our Rector also expressed his gratitude to the President of the Council of Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, and the members of the Council for their support in research activities and internationalization, and thanked our personnel who contributed to the process.
