Kastamonu University secured its position in international rankings by being included in the 2025 Best Global Universities list announced by US News & World Report. Our University ranked 2,192nd globally, 704th in Asia, and 49th in Turkey.
US News rankings are determined based on 13 indicators, such as the number of scientific publications, citation rates, and international research collaborations. Our University has succeeded in being included in this list, particularly due to its performance in publication production and global visibility.
Our University achieved 36.0 points for the number of publications by our academic staff and 14.5 points for the total number of citations to those publications. While reaching a score of 15.4% in the International Collaboration category, it received 6.1 points in the Global Research Reputation indicator. The percentage of the Most Cited Publications was recorded as 12.9%.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, stated that this result is an indication of our University's research-oriented vision and internationalization strategies, saying, "Our University continues to advance in the global academic competition thanks to scientific projects, graduate programs, publication incentives, and international collaborations."
Our Rector emphasized that such international rankings make universities' academic performance and research potential more visible and stated that our University will continue to strengthen its qualified human resources, improve its research infrastructure, and expand its international collaboration networks.
Our Rector also thanked the President of the Higher Education Council, Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, and the YÖK members for their support in enhancing research quality.
