The "Information Meeting for the Institutional Communication and Science Communication Offices of Universities," organized by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), was held on June 16, 2026, in the YÖK Presidency Conference Hall. At the meeting, our university was represented by the Press and Public Relations Advisor, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selver Mertoğlu.
In the meeting, where strategies for effectively promoting new academic programs related to future career fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digitalization, and green transformation, which have gained importance in higher education in recent years, were discussed, the roadmaps for universities' corporate communication activities were evaluated.
In the meeting, strategic steps were discussed, particularly for the accurate, transparent, and efficient communication of new employment-focused programs to prospective students, their families, and the public. The importance of the newly opened programs within the higher education system, the activities to be carried out during career days, and the communication processes related to the preference and promotion periods were among the prominent topics on the agenda.
As part of the event, while sharing best practice examples of the more effective use of digital media tools and corporate communication channels in university and department promotions aimed at prospective students, comprehensive evaluations were also made regarding the content, scope, and communication strategies of the "Science Café" meetings planned to be implemented in the upcoming period.
The meeting concluded after evaluating the decisions made to develop a common understanding of universities' communication strategies, strengthen the principles of fair and accurate information in promotional processes, and enhance inter-institutional cooperation.
