Kastamonu  Technopark continued its growth in the first six months of 2026 with its activities in the fields of entrepreneurship, innovation, research and development (R&D), and university-industry collaboration. In addition to the increase in the number of companies, employment, and projects, support provided to entrepreneurs has contributed to the commercialization of innovative ideas and the development of qualified ventures.

In the first six months of the year, the number of companies operating within the Technopolis reached 47. Of these, 33 were R&D companies, and 14 were initiatives operating within the Entrepreneurship Office. While 7 new companies were accepted into the Technopark during the same period, 3 started their activities in R&D offices and 4 under the umbrella of the Incubation Office. In addition, 2 companies graduated, and 16 ventures benefited from pre-incubation services.

27 Companies Made Sales

Progress has also been made in the companies' commercialization processes operating within Kastamonu Technopark. While 27 companies made sales in the first six-month period, 7 companies in the Incubation Office made their first sales. Three of the R&D companies and four of the start-ups in the Incubation Office made exports. 

Employment Rates in the Technopark Reached 169

The number of employees at Kastamonu Technopark, which continues to increase its employment, has risen to 169. 159 of the staff are in R&D, 2 are in design, 6 are in support, and 2 are non-staff. The number of academics working in the  Technopark reached 28, while the number of female R&D and design personnel reached 45.

A total of 57 projects were carried out

A total of 57 projects were carried out within the Technopark's R&D activities. Of these projects, 44 are ongoing, and 7 have been completed. During the same period, the implementation of 4 TÜBİTAK-supported projects and 1 KOSGEB-supported project continued. Project preparations for the new support programs were also continued.

In the distribution of projects by field of activity, there were 20 R&D, 1 design, and 36 software projects.

University-Industry Collaboration is Strengthening

Studies on university-industry collaboration also gained momentum in the first six months. The number of projects carried out in collaboration with academics reached 21, while the number of projects conducted by companies within and outside the region reached 11. 

Thanks to joint efforts with universities, public institutions, technology transfer offices, technopark companies, and firms, both domestically and internationally, the Technopark's collaboration network continues to expand.

Making evaluations on the subject, our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal stated that Kastamonu  Technopark is a center that brings together academic knowledge and entrepreneurship, and said the following:

Data for the first six months of 2026 reveal that our Kastamonu Technopark has shown steady development in the fields of entrepreneurship, R&D, and university-industry collaboration. In the upcoming period, we will continue to support technology initiatives that generate high added value, further expand our collaboration network, and contribute to the development of our region.
