As part of the program conducted by the administrative units of Kastamonu University, the program aimed at enabling new personnel who started their duties for the first time in the last three years thru transfer and reassignment methods to learn the tasks and processes related to their duties practically, gain work discipline, and develop their professional competencies was held on May 4, 2026, in the Cemil Meriç Hall of the Central Library.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, our Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Atalan, the Acting Secretary General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Demirbaş, the Coordinator of Excellence in Education, Prof. Dr. Berat Ahi, the Department Heads, and the newly appointed academic and administrative staff attended the program.
During the three-day orientation program, new personnel will receive training from unit supervisors, ensuring that theoretical knowledge is directly transferred alongside corporate experience.
Our Rector, who delivered the opening speech of the program, stated that they are trying to rebuild our university's way of working together, its capacity to understand each other, and its institutional strength in a more conscious manner, and said the following: No task is too small. No responsibility is insignificant. Writing a text correctly, directing a request properly, attending to a student appropriately... Each of these may seem small when viewed from the outside. "But when combined, they are the most critical elements that determine the quality of a university,"
Our Rector, who stated that with this program, they aim to strengthen institutional affiliation, reduce the risk of doing things incorrectly, and make inter-unit coordination visible, said, "The biggest losses in institutions do not arise from lack of information, but from misdirection and lack of coordination." When a student is misdirected, it is not just one process that is delayed.
Trust in the institution is shaken. When a request isn't communicated through the proper channel, it's not just a waste of time. The system slows down. When a process is not carried out according to the hierarchy, it's not just the work that gets delayed. The corporate order is harmed. Therefore, the most important gain of this program is this: Knowing who did what, when, and how," he stated, expressing the main purpose of the program.
In his speech, our Rector concluded by reminding the staff that they are not alone in the institution, that they are part of it, and that they can take steps to reach the right place, saying that a strong, respected, and sustainable institution can be built.
The first day of the program concluded with training provided by the Strategy Development and Personnel Departments and the General Secretariat.
On the second day of the program, it will continue with training provided by the Information Technology Department, the Strategy Development Department's Quality Coordination, and the Education Excellence Coordination.
On the last day of the program, the training provided by the Health, Culture and Sports, Construction and Technical Affairs, Library and Documentation Department Heads, Internal Audit Unit, External Relations Coordination, Press and Public Relations Consultancy, and Revolving Fund Management will conclude with a panel.
