The placement results of the 2026 Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) have been announced. Kastamonu University, with a total occupancy rate of 99.76%, was among the leading universities in higher education preferences this year.  

According to the 2026 YKS placement results, the fill rate for the associate degree programmes at our university was 100%, while the fill rate for the undergraduate programmes was 99.43%. The dentistry programme, which is part of the Faculty of Dentistry and accepted students for the first time this year, also achieved a 100% occupancy rate.  

Our Rector, Prof. Dr Ahmet Hamdi Topal, stated in his evaluation of the 2026 YKS placement results that the achieved occupancy rates are an indication of the trust students and their families have in our university.

The 2026 YKS placement results have once again shown that our University is a preferred higher education institution among students. We evaluate the occupancy rates we have achieved not just as a result but as an indication of the trust our students and their families have in our University.

We consider continuously improving the quality of our education, equipping our students with the knowledge and skills required by the era, and preparing them for the changing business world and societal needs as our fundamental priorities. In this regard, we continue to develop our education and training programmes by taking into account the developments in science and technology, digital transformation, and changing workforce needs.

The fact that the Dentistry Programme, which is part of our Faculty of Dentistry that accepted students for the first time this year, has reached a 100% occupancy rate also demonstrates the interest shown in our new academic units.”
